CJP Protest Draws Massive Crowd at Jantar Mantar; Dipke Demands Education Minister’s Resignation
Abhijeet Dipke says he is “fully prepared to sacrifice freedom” as thousands gather in Delhi demanding accountability over alleged examination irregularities.
New Delhi, June 6: A massive crowd gathered at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Saturday as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), led by founder Abhijeet Dipke, launched a protest demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in examinations including NEET, CBSE, and CUET.
Thousands of students, young professionals, parents, and supporters joined the demonstration, many carrying the national flag and wearing symbolic cockroach masks. Protesters raised slogans such as “Dharmendra Pradhan, resign!” while demanding accountability in the education system.
Addressing supporters at the protest site, Dipke said he was “fully prepared to sacrifice freedom” for the movement and accused authorities of ignoring concerns raised by students. He alleged that attempts had been made to suppress the group’s social media presence but said the movement could not be silenced.
“You may remove our social media posts, but you cannot erase us,” Dipke told the crowd, drawing loud cheers from supporters.
The CJP founder also announced that Ladakh-based activist Sonam Wangchuk would soon join the protest. Wangchuk had earlier voiced support for the movement, stating that concerns around India’s education system go beyond controversies such as the NEET paper leak and CBSE evaluation issues.
The protest, which was granted one-time permission by Delhi Police from 10 am to 5 pm, remained peaceful amid heavy security deployment at Jantar Mantar and nearby areas. Police maintained strict monitoring while urging demonstrators to follow guidelines and avoid disruptions.
The movement has gained significant attention online in recent weeks, with the CJP presenting itself as a youth-led platform advocating reforms and accountability in education.
