Serious concerns have emerged over the integrity of NEET 2026, India’s largest and most competitive medical entrance examination, after fresh revelations in the alleged paper leak case. Investigations by the Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG) suggest that questions worth nearly 600 marks may have been circulated among students before the exam was conducted on May 3.

According to officials linked to the investigation, a suspected “question bank” containing more than 300 questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology was shared among students in Rajasthan’s Sikar district nearly two days before the exam. Shockingly, around 140 of those questions reportedly matched the actual NEET paper almost exactly.

Since each NEET question carries four marks, investigators estimate that questions worth nearly 600 marks were already accessible to several students before the examination began. Authorities are now trying to determine whether this was merely a highly accurate “guess paper” or an actual leak of exam content.

Sources claimed that the answer options in the circulated material also matched the sequence used in the final examination paper, further intensifying suspicion. Investigators found that the handwritten question bank had identical handwriting throughout, raising concerns about its origin.

The probe has reportedly traced the circulation of the material to a youth from Churu district, who is currently studying MBBS at a medical college in Kerala. Officials suspect he shared the document with a friend in Sikar on May 1. From there, the material allegedly spread rapidly among students, hostel operators, career counsellors, and NEET aspirants through messaging apps and social media platforms.

Investigators also discovered that the material was forwarded multiple times through encrypted messaging applications. Several chats reportedly carried the “forwarded many times” label, suggesting that the document had reached a large number of candidates before the exam.

The Rajasthan SOG is now examining social media chats, call records, and digital communication trails to uncover the full network behind the alleged leak. Officials are also investigating whether printed copies of the question bank were distributed offline.

A hostel operator in Sikar has also come under the scanner. Interestingly, the same operator had filed a complaint with both the National Testing Agency (NTA) and local police after the exam, claiming that suspicious study material had been circulated among students. However, investigators now believe he may have already possessed the material before the exam and later filed the complaint to avoid suspicion.

The National Testing Agency has not yet made any official announcement regarding cancellation or re-examination. Meanwhile, lakhs of NEET aspirants and parents across the country are anxiously waiting for clarity as the investigation continues.

The controversy has once again raised questions over the security and fairness of high-stakes competitive examinations in India, especially after repeated allegations of paper leaks in recent years.
