Mentally Disturbed Youth Attacks Four Factory Workers in Sahibabad, Arrested
Incident at Mohan Nagar industrial unit leaves security staff injured; accused handed over to police
New Delhi | April 9, 2026: A youth reportedly suffering from mental distress attacked four factory workers after attempting to forcibly enter an industrial unit in the Mohan Nagar area of Sahibabad.
According to officials, the incident occurred at Modern Industries, where railway freight wagons are manufactured. The accused tried to enter the premises by climbing the boundary wall after emerging from a nearby drain. When security personnel intervened, he turned violent and attacked them using an iron pipe and stones.
Four workers—Sushil Sharma, Suresh Bhatt, Jagdish, and Raj Singh—sustained injuries in the assault. With the help of local people, the accused was overpowered and subsequently handed over to the police.
The accused has been identified as Guddu, a resident of Udham Singh Nagar district in Uttarakhand. Preliminary police investigation suggests that he is mentally disturbed.
ACP Sahibabad Shweta Yadav stated that an FIR was registered on the night of April 7, and further inquiries are underway. Upon contacting his family, police were informed that he had been living away from home and had reportedly reached Sahibabad by train.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident while ensuring necessary legal and medical procedures.
