Heavy Rainfall Recorded Across Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh in Last 24 Hours
Jeolikote receives highest rainfall at 83 mm as several hill regions witness significant precipitation.
Several parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh recorded moderate to heavy rainfall over the last 24 hours, according to weather observations recorded till 8:30 AM.
In Uttarakhand, Jeolikote emerged as the wettest location, receiving 83.0 mm of rainfall, followed by Nainital with 55.0 mm and Pantnagar with 52.0 mm. Other areas that witnessed notable rainfall include Champawat at 49.5 mm, Loharkhet at 48.0 mm, Kirtinagar at 35.0 mm, and Dehradun at 30.1 mm.
Meanwhile, in Himachal Pradesh, Naina Devi recorded 46.4 mm of rainfall, making it one of the highest in the state. Sarahan received 28.5 mm, followed by Barthin with 22.6 mm, Paonta at 20.4 mm, and Kasauli registering 18.0 mm of rainfall.
The steady rainfall across hill regions has brought cooler temperatures but may also raise concerns over waterlogging, landslides, and travel disruptions in vulnerable areas. Authorities are likely to keep a close watch on weather conditions as the monsoon activity strengthens across northern India.
