Smart Design Global 2026 Unveils 52 Award-Winning Designs, Hong Kong Creations Set for Global Showcase

The Smart Design Global 2026 awards ceremony officially unveiled 52 award-winning original designs, highlighting Hong Kong’s growing influence in global creative innovation. Formerly known as the Hong Kong Smart Design Awards, the annual event has been rebranded as Smart Design Global (SDG) and aims to expand its international footprint.

Organised by the Hong Kong Exporters’ Association (HKEA) and supported by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) of the Hong Kong SAR Government, the event recognised standout works across four major categories — LIVE, DINE, GIFT, and PLAY.

Held at the Charles K. Kao Auditorium in Hong Kong Science Park on June 5, the ceremony brought together designers, business leaders, and cultural representatives to celebrate innovation and commercial creativity.

A total of 54 awards covering 52 products were presented, including 5 Grand Awards, 9 Gold Awards, 36 Winner Awards, 3 Green Awards, and 1 Student Award.

Among the standout winners was AIROmini Magic Brewer, a compact portable tea and coffee brewing device designed for travel, which won the Grand Award in the LIVE category. In the DINE segment, LOCKIT, a modular storage system with airtight sealing technology, received top recognition for its practical and minimalist design.

Other notable winners included Plants Incense Matches, an innovative incense gift product, and InstantSnap, a nostalgic instant camera-inspired device designed to encourage thoughtful photography.

The award-winning designs will now embark on an international exhibition tour, featuring showcases at Mega Show Bangkok in July 2026 and Maison&Objet Paris in September 2026, offering designers opportunities to connect with global markets and business partners.

Organisers said the initiative aims to strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a global creative hub while promoting innovation-driven economic growth.
